    BIOGRAPHY

I was born in Bogota, Colombia, was brought up in the midst of the on going civil war within social political movements, para-military militia and government death squads of the Escobar era. My family members were persecuted and assassinated for presumed affiliation and involvement within the educational syndicates in Colombia. In 1989, I was rescued by Amnesty International and was granted political asylum in Canada. It was only then, through the rhythms and chants for protest in tribute to the situation in Colombia that my profound interest for music began.

Today, I'm one of the pioneers in what is said to be the first rehabilitation program for social reinsertion through music ever built within a third world federal penitentiary. In short words, I took part in the creation and development of the first recording studio and unprecedented outlet for musical expression within Panama's notorious Federal prison, El Renacer. Assisting a group of inmates during their imprisonment. I jointly produced, performed and filmed several musical projects within the prison walls.

Come follow me in my journey... as I direct videos and create music.

The Ghetto Youths Project, is the result of an unprecedented glimpse into the raw reality of incarcerated youth. This project speaks about the inspirational achievements of a group young men who were driven to turn a unhumane situation into a historic project.

In 2005, this group of men, seeking ways in which to redefine convict rehabilitation and social reinsertion methods within the Panamenean correctional system. Started off with the simplest idea of a library and eventually created the unprecedented recording studio. 2 milestones which attributed 'El Renacer' penitentiary with a noticable decrease in violence and established a new therapeutic way of dealing with anger, love, distress and hope for the inmates within the program. This elicited massive media attention and persuaded the most prominent names in the latin music industry to participate in the project. They started recording collaborations with international guests, filming videos, showcasing concerts, participated in many street DVDs and news reports. Through a hurricane of events, these young men who call themselves GhettoYouths.tv, managed to make history within Latin Amercian correctional systems and we're quite the example for many other countries to follow.
